QR codes authenticate certificates
Self-serviceVerify a certificate outside of the Learning Portal by scanning the unique QR code
You can now verify the authenticity of any certificate that is awarded to a learner without logging into the Learning Portal. To improve the security of our certificates, we have also switched to a newer version of the PDF generation library, which supports encryption.
When a user completes a training course on the portal, they can print out their certificate or email it to someone to prove they have completed the course. The recipient can verify the authenticity of the certificate by scanning its unique QR code; this can be achieved without logging in to the portal.
A new toggle in Configuration enables the QR code to display on the certificate. You can find this toggle via:
- Configuration > Branding & Design > Other Branding > Certificate > Enable QR code toggle
Note: As part of this release, a QR code is automatically added to all default and self-service certificates. Since custom certificates require a manual update, please contact your account manager if you need this completed.
