Psychosocial Risk Management in the Workplace
The effects of psychological hazards can be costly and problematic for employers.
Kineo Courses are excited to announce that we have developed a course that focusses on the importance of managing psychosocial risks in the workplace!
A mental health problem caused by, or in, a workplace is called a psychological injury. Psychological injuries are typically caused by psychosocial hazards. Under the model WHS regulations, organisations must eliminate or minimise, so far as is reasonably practicable, the psychosocial risks that arise from psychosocial hazards. Poor mental health of your employees costs Australian businesses nearly $13 billion and over 4 months of lost productivity every yeari, so we don’t say it lightly when we say that psychosocial hazards in your workplace must be managed as effectively as physical hazards.
It’s likely that at least one worker in your workplace will experience a psychological injury due to a psychosocial hazard. Having a good understanding of what psychological hazards are enables you to be more effective at handling them.
Kineo Courses’ Psychosocial Risk Management in the Workplace course will provide learners with an understanding of:
- what mental health conditions are
- what psychosocial hazards are
- the importance of supporting mental health in the workplace
- the challenges of maintaining a mentally healthy workplace
- determining the best strategies to eliminate or minimise psychosocial hazards, and
- strategies to increase awareness and create a mentally healthy and safe workplace.
As with every Kineo Courses unit, Psychosocial Risk Management in the Workplace features:
- Adaptics pre-assessment technology
