Platform updates for the Kineo relaunch

An outline of all updates introduced to the platform in line with the Kineo relaunch.

We are excited by the announcement that Kineo and e3Learning have joined forces !

There will be updates introduced to the platform along with the relaunch. The updates that have been released, and those to be released in the coming weeks or months are outlined below. 

Released on the 9th of April 2018 (Yesterday):

Feature or application Update introduced
Knowledgebase
  • Branding of Knowledgebase website has been migrated to the Kineo brand.
  • The domain to access the knowledgebase has been updated to http://knowledgebase.kineoportal.com.  The previous domains will continue to work and will redirect to the new domains. 
Status page 
Release changelog
  • Branding of the release changelog website and email notification has been updated to the Kineo brand.
  • The domain to access the changelog has been updated to http://productupdates.kineoportal.com.  The previous domains will continue to work and will redirect to the new domains.
Portal - Legal Information
  • The disclaimer, copyright and privacy policies on all portals have been updated.  

Platform Service Levels (PSL)

  • References to e3Learning have been changed to Kineo, the terms of the PSL remain the same.  You can view the PSL  here
Portal - Help and support
  • The help desk email has been updated to help@kineo.com. This change in email will be reflected on portals where first line support is provided.
SitePass
  • The terms and conditions for registering an account in SitePass via the self-registration have been updated.
Online Store
  • The terms and conditions for registering an account in the online store via the self-registration have been updated.
Certificate
  • The default e3Learning branded certificate has been updated to use the Kineo brand.

Releasing on the 24th of April 2018:

Feature or application Update to be introduced
Learning Portal- Version 9
  • The default logo, favicon and theme will be updated to use the Kineo brand.
  • A new default colour theme will be introduced called Kineo.The previous default colour theme will still be available and called professional.
  • Those sites which have custom logos, and colour themes will be unaffected.
SitePass
  • The default logo will be updated to the Kineo logo.
  • For sites migrated to version 9 platform, the SitePass main menu will be updated to use the version 9 menu. This will allow the branding for the main menu to be centrally configured for SitePass from the configuration application.  
Email notifications
  • The no reply email notifications will be updated to use the sub domain from the e3Learning domain. The no reply email can be configured for those sites using the version 9 platform. Details on how to change this email can be viewed here 
Online Store Invoices
  • Invoices sent from the online store will be updated to include the Kineo logo and contact information.
Beta Environment
  • The domain for the beta environment which is available for setup and testing purposes will be updated. The new domain will be http://example.kineobeta.com, where example is the name of the client in the sub domain. The previous domain will continue to work and will redirect to the new domain.
Sub Domain - New Kineo Domain
  • The e3Learning sub domain registered for each site remains active and will continue to e.g. http://example.e3learning.com.au
  • A new Kineo sub domain will be available to be used as a replacement for the e3Learning domain.  http://example.kineoportal.com
  • Any custom domains setup for each site will be unaffected.

Releasing on the 8th of May 2018:

Feature or application Update to be introduced
Sub Domain - Enforcing HTTPS
  • A Security update will be introduced for all e3Learning & Kineo sub domains. These domains will have SSL enforced, which means that all traffic will be forced to use HTTPS.  
  • It is recommended that any integrations and single signs on (SSO) are reviewed to ensure they are either developed to support URL redirects or use the Kineo sub domain.The beta environment will be configured with SSL enforced, and will be available for development and testing purposes.
  • Web application firewall (WAF) will also be enabled for enhanced security of the portals.

Releasing on the 1st of September 2018:

Feature or application Update to be introduced
Sub Domain - Redirect e3Learning domain to Kineo domain.
  • The e3Learning domain will be retired, and all traffic from the e3Learning sub domain be directed to the Kineo sub domain. 
  • It is recommended that any integrations and single signs on (SSO) are reviewed to ensure they are either developed to support URL redirects or use the Kineo sub domain.
