Hand Hygiene for Healthcare Workers
We are excited to announce and release our new course on Hand Hygiene for Healthcare Workers.
Course Overview
This course has been developed to give workers in the healthcare environment an understanding of the importance of hand hygiene in stopping and controlling the spread of infection.
This course will provide an understanding of:
- the role hand hygiene plays in preventing and controlling infection
- how to perform hand hygiene according to the World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines
- when to use alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR) or soap and water, and
- when hand hygiene is necessary.
The course is appropriate for all staff working in health care settings.
Reasons and benefits of the new course:
Hand hygiene is a standard precaution against healthcare associated infections, used in all healthcare facilities. The likelihood of somebody becoming infected is drastically reduced when people perform hand hygiene correctly and at the right times.
This 20-minute course has been designed to ensure the learner takes away and implements the required behaviours. All healthcare workers know the requirements of good hand hygiene. This is a reminder of what good practice looks like.
The course features:
- 2 live action videos on how to correctly apply soap and water or ABHR in real time
- downloadable takeaways to give the product a wider use, all of which are delivered via a home page dashboard
- mobile responsive delivery
- professional audio
- animation and interactivity
- WCAG 2.0 accessibility
- assessments, and
- a certificate of completion.
