Google Analytics notice

Get your party hats, balloons, and streamers out because Google’s Universal Analytics is retiring.

Did you know that Google is retiring Universal Analytics on 1st of July 2023? Universal Analytics (UA) was one of the earliest developed versions of Google Analytics. Anyone that is using UA will need to upgrade their account to the latest version of Google Analytics, GA4, before the retirement date.

Our third-party plugin has been updated to allow Analytics tracking using the latest GA4 Analytics ID.

For more information, please visit https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/11583528?hl=en.

Have you got Google Analytics set up on your portal?

Please check your platform configuration, if your Analytics ID starts with a UA, you’ll need to upgrade to GA4. You can see this via:

  • Configuration > Developer > Integration > Third-Party apps > Google Analytics.

If you do have a UA Analytics ID, please visit the website from Google’s support (mentioned above) to see how you can migrate your account to GA4. Once you have your new ID, you can set up your Analytics ID in your platform configuration.

Do you currently have Google Analytics set up on your portal, but no longer use it?

Feel free to remove the Google Analytics settings in your platform configuration. The pathway is mentioned above.

What if you have an old UA code set up and don’t take action by July 1st?

Then we will remove the existing code after July 1st to eliminate unnecessary data traffic (since Google won’t be handling this data anymore anyway). A new code can be set up any time after this.

Any other questions?

Feel free to consult your Customer Service Manager if you have any questions about this process.
