Gain more control over Classroom Booking System email reminders

We’ve created new email notification settings in the Classroom Booking System that allow you to define how often your students and trainers receive email reminders about their upcoming training. You can find these settings when logged into the Classroom Booking System as a trainer or Classroom Booking Administrator.

The new notification settings are within two different areas within the Classroom Booking System:

  • Settings (from within the main Menu)
  • Edit Session (from within a session)

Menu Settings

A new notification option within the Settings page allows you to define when students and trainers receive an email reminder for any of their enrolled training sessions.

You can access this page by following these steps:

  • Log into your portal as a trainer > open the Classroom Bookings System > go to the Menu > select Settings.

The Settings page has a new drop-down field called Default email reminder notifications. You can find this setting in the Notification Settings section. The options are only applicable for active sessions.

The setting allows you to define when the system sends an email reminder about upcoming training to anyone enrolled in a session. The options available are:

  • No Reminder
  • 1 day before (default value)
  • 1 week before

Enhancement

To make one of our checkboxes easier to understand, we have changed its name:

  • Previously name: Don't send notifications when sessions are not active
  • New name: Only send notifications when sessions are active

The behaviour of this box remains unchanged:

  • When this checkbox is selected, notifications are sent if the session is active.
  • When this check box is unchecked, notifications are sent irrespective of the session’s status.

Edit Session

The second set of new notifications are within the Edit Session page. They will be defaulted to the value in the Settings page but can be modified. They allow you to define when trainers and students are emailed a reminder about that session. You can access this page by following these steps:

  • Log into your portal as a trainer > open the Classroom Bookings System > select a course from the Course List > select a session from within the course > click on the Edit Session tab > scroll to the bottom and review the Notifications section.
