Enhancement

Configuration pizazz – we’ve added a description feature and relocated some settings

Administrators can now add description text to the portal’s Home page buttons. We’ve also made self-registration more logical by moving the Portal Branding self-registration settings to the Self Registration page.

Home page buttons

You can add buttons to your Home page to make it easier for your users to navigate your site. To help them on their journey, we’ve added an option that allows your Site Administrators to add descriptions to those buttons.

Workflow

To add a description to a Home page button:

  1. Log in as a Site Administrator.
  2. Click on the Admin menu and select Configuration.
  3. Open the Portal folder on the left pane.
  4. Open the Portal sub-folder.
  5. Select Main Menu.
  6. Click the ellipsis against the menu item you want to change.
  7. Select the Edit option.

    A pop-up opens.

  8. Set the Pin toggle to Yes. The Description field does not appear in the pop-up if this toggle is set to No.
  9. Enter a description for the button in the Description field.
Use this Description field to explain where your user will be navigated to when they click the button – please note that it navigates them to the page that is set in the URL field (which you can also alter within this pop-up).
  10. Select the Confirm button to save your changes.

Self-registration in Configuration

So that all Self Registration settings can be together in Configuration, we’ve taken the Self Registration section from the Portal Branding page and moved it to the Self Registration page; they now fall under the Display section (it used to be called Self Registration). Even though they’ve moved, the fields included in the section and their functionality remain the same.

Previous workflow

Previously, you would need to follow this path to access the Title, Text, and Button label Self Registration settings:

  1. Log in as a Site Administrator.
  2. Click on the Admin menu and select Configuration.
  3. Open the Site Settings folder on the left pane.
  4. Open the Branding & Design sub-folder.
  5. Select Portal Branding.
  6. Go to the Self Registration section – this is the old home of the Title, Text, and Button label fields.

NOTE: These settings will remain here until the release date, which is:
    Australia: 1 June 2022
    Europe:  31 May 2022
