Our latest Classroom Training update provides your students with a more consistent, intuitive, and accessible classroom learning journey.
With this update, we’re delivering:
- A new calendar in the Classroom Booking System’s (CBS’s) student interface.
- Improved accessibility for your students.
Calendar and Accessibility details
We’re rolling out a new calendar in the Classroom Training platform. This replaces the existing Classroom Training calendar with a snazzy, modernised, feature-rich version. Through this calendar, we’re also providing your students with improved accessibility and straightforward session management, driving a smoother end-to-end experience.
Provided below are the details of these improvements:
1. Enhanced content
To make scheduling easier, we’ve increased the types of sessions that appear in a student’s calendar. It continues to show the student’s enrolled sessions, and now also includes their pending and completed sessions.
A pending session is an enrolment request that is awaiting admin approval.
2. Simple navigation
- Date (or date range) clearly displayed.
- Simple to use back and forth buttons.
- Buttons that organise the calendar by day, week, or month.
- An option to focus on today’s training.
- Navigation buttons have hover descriptions.
- Multiple sessions on the same day are listed in start time order.
Clicking a session in the calendar opens the Session Details box, which provides the user with information on the selected session.
3. Accessibility flexibility
Fully WCAG 2.2 AA compliant, including accessible colour palettes, ARIA support, and full keyboard navigation for all users.
4. Responsive design
The updated calendar is mobile-friendly and adapts seamlessly across device sizes.
5. Time zone compatible
The session’s set location and the student’s location can be in different time zones. When this occurs, the calendar automatically converts the session so that it uses the student’s local time zone.
6. Consistent branding
Your Portal’s primary colour is used within the buttons of the new calendar. This adoption of your branding creates consistency across your platforms.
7. Information highlights
Each session on the page is assigned a unique, randomly selected colour. This use of colour for event dots and blocks creates separation when there are multiple sessions close together.
