Aged Care Quality Standards for Personal Care Workers and Support Workers
The Aged Care Quality Standards for Personal Care Workers and Support Workers course is a new online training course developed to provide your personal care workers and support workers with an understanding of the requirements of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
The Aged Care Quality Standards were introduced in 2019 to improve the quality of life of the people receiving aged care. The Standards help consumers to understand what they can expect from aged care organisations and what organisations need to do to meet them. Everyone working in aged care has a role to play in providing consumer-centred care and meeting these Standards.
The Aged Care Quality Standards for Personal Care Workers and Support Workers course has been designed for your learners who interact with aged care consumers on a daily basis but are not involved in staff management or specialised care decisions. This course suits your ‘boots on the ground’ learners – the personal care workers and other support workers that provide care in residential aged care homes and home care settings.
This course focuses on the following learning outcomes:
- why the Quality Standards and the Charter of Aged Care Rights are important in aged care
- key elements of each Quality Standard
- what consumer-centred care means, and
- actions that support the Quality Standards and the Charter of Aged Care Rights
Features
This course features:
- activities and information promoting behavioural change
- engaging animations and rich imagery, and
- assessments targeting specific learning outcomes.
These courses have been reviewed by Melissa Sinfield, a recognised subject matter expert in this space.
