Just as adaptics helps your learners skip what they already know, this new feature helps you skip repetition when configuring adaptics courses.

Our latest upgrade provides a place where you can change the adaptics settings for all adaptics courses. With this centralised control, you can:

• Enable or disable the adaptics feature for your entire site.
• Set when the adaptics pre-assessment feature initially appears to the learner.
• Apply your setting choices:
  • To any new adaptics course that is added to your site; existing course settings remain unchanged.
  • To all adaptics courses, including existing courses and any added in the future.
• Change these settings at any time.

Use this feature to save time when managing a multitude of adaptics courses, as part of the initial site set up, or to create a consistent learner experience without the manual overhead.

Access Level

The new General Adaptics Settings feature is available to Site Administrators and Learning Cloud Administrators.

Configuration

You can find the new General Adaptics Settings feature by logging into your Portal as a Site or Learning Cloud Administrator and following these steps:

1. Click the Admin menu and select Configuration.
2. When the Configuration tool opens, go to Site Settings in the left panel and click the Online Training Management folder.
3. Select the Assignable Courses option.
4. When the Assignable Courses page opens, go to the Assignable Courses heading; next to it is the new Actions option; click it.
5. Select the General Adaptics Settings option from within the Actions drop-down menu.

This opens the General Adaptics Settings box.

From here, you have access to the following setting and button options.

Settings

Adaptics

An ON/OFF toggle. It allows you to enable or disable the adaptics feature for your entire site.

Attempts (this setting appears when the adaptics toggle is set to ON.)
A drop-down that lets you choose when the adaptics pre-assessment feature is presented to a learner. The options are:

• Subsequent Attempts (default)
  The adaptics pre-assessment feature does not appear on the learner’s first attempt. It appears after the course has been completed and reset
• First Attempt
  The adaptics pre-assessment feature appears when the learner takes the course for the first time and any subsequent attempt thereafter.

Buttons

Save & apply to new courses

Saves any setting changes you made and applies them to an adaptics course when it is added to your site. No changes are made to courses that are currently on your site.

Save & apply to all courses

Updates all existing adaptics courses on the site to match your selected settings. These settings are also applied to an adaptics course when it is added to the site.

Cancel

No updates are applied. The settings box closes.

Nitty-Gritty

• These new General Adaptics Settings are the default adaptics settings for your site. When an adaptics course is added to your site, it automatically inherits these settings.
• Adaptics settings can also be changed at the course level. This is an existing feature that is not affected by the upgrade.
• The Save & apply to all courses button overrides what is set against any individual adaptics course. After you use this button, you can go and change the adaptics settings for an individual adaptics course if you so wish.  
• A record is logged in the LMS Audit Logs when the new adaptics settings are changed.
• The upgrade will not change any existing course settings.  
• The upgrade will set the new Adaptics toggle to OFF.
• When a site is added after the upgrade:
  • The Adaptics toggle will be set to ON.
  • The Attempt type will be set to Subsequent Attempts.
