Enhancement

Prompting a password change on a user’s first login.

We’ve created a new field that controls the existing Password Change prompt.

There is a new toggle in Configuration called Prompt password change on first login. When enabled, a password prompt appears to your users when they log in to your portal for the first time.

Before…

The password prompt was previously controlled by the Successful login redirect field in Configuration. You could access it via:

  • Configuration > Site Settings > Access & Security > Login Sessions > Successful login redirect field > Password Change option in the drop-down.
Now…

As of this release, you can access the toggle that controls the password prompt via:

  • Configuration > Site Settings > Access & Security > Login Sessions > Prompt password change on first login toggle.

The Password Change option has been removed from the drop-down of the Successful login redirect field (path shown above in the Before… section). The new toggle (Prompt password change on first login) frees up the redirect field so that a) another option can be used for that redirect and b) the user can still be prompted to change their password.

If your site has the Successful login redirect field set to Password Change, then the new toggle will be set to YES as part of this release. In addition, your Successful login redirect field will be updated to use the Home page for the redirect.
