This course has been developed to provide learners with an understanding of how to identify, report and respond to the abuse of older people who are in a care relationship.

This course will provide an understanding of:

• Background to and the definitions and prevalence of the abuse of older people in Australia
• Types of abuse most commonly experienced by older people
• Requirements for the reporting of abuse of an older person in your care
• Roles and responsibilities of staff around the abuse of a person in their care
• Barriers to staff reporting suspected and actual abuse, and
• Actions to take if there is imminent threat to an older person.

Reasons and benefits of the update: This product has been updated to provide more relevant imagery and minor text modifications in line with current terminology. This course features some great illustration, animation and activities, including the new drag & drop: swipe left/swipe right style for Responsive delivery

This product has also been updated with the addition of a customised new ‘home page’ feature. This new element of the Kineo Courses offering provides a dashboard style entry point into the module.

No changes have been applied to the learning outcomes or the pre-assessment. However, we recommend that clients update to the new unit for an improved learner experience.
