Basic Life Support

This course has been rebuilt specifically for healthcare professionals who already possess a base-level of knowledge.

The Basic Life Support course is designed specifically for healthcare professionals. This is vital – and mandatory – training for those who regularly face life-and-death situations. The course aligns to ANZCOR guidelines.

The new version of this popular course has been updated in consultation with industry professionals. As a result, this course features:

  • A course structure in line with ARC guidelines.
  • Interactive case study scenarios.
  • Compression rhythm training.
  • Illustrated hospital environment.
  • Simplified, more direct wording.
  • Updated assessment questions.

This course provides training in:

  • The steps involved in conducting effective basic life support (BLS).
  • Assessing a situation, identifying dangers and calling for help.
  • Identifying airway obstructions and managing breathing.
  • Why and how CPR is performed.
  • The safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Successful completion of this course will assist the learner in implementing National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standard Recognising and Responding to Acute Deterioration.

The estimated seat-time has been reduced from 85 minutes to 55 minutes. This course is highly interactive and fully mobile responsive.
